Born in Los Baños, CA and raised in Kansas, and Oklahoma. Vanessa has always been an artist since she was a little girl. She would pass time just sketching, and drawing for hours.

Despite being told by professors that she was not a good enough artist to continue. She still managed to continue to paint her heart out. She even ended up graduating Arizona State University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, in 2010.

Vanessa Ortiz Zapata is an amazing local artist from Arizona who is known for her stunning depictions of the Arizona sunsets in the desert, and the superstition mountains. Using various techniques and mediums such as alcohol ink, watercolor, oil painting, mixed media, and acrylic paints.

Her work is vibrant, bold, mystical, full of color, and life. Which truly captures the beauty of nature. She has participated in numerous art shows and has been featured in many publications.

Her art is a beautiful representation of the beauty of nature, and how Arizona is more than just a desert. We are so lucky to have her share her talents and gifts with us.

“I use my curiosity and love for life as inspiration for my incredible Artwork. I paint and create with vibrant colors, various media and pour my soul into every piece. I immersed myself into a world free of fear and full of hope. I paint what I feel and love the most. I let my hands guide me by my dreams.“ - Vanessa Ortiz Zapata
