The Stallions
at Super Bowl LVII in Scottsdale, Arizona
In the heart of the picturesque Arizona desert, Vanessa Zapata had the opportunity to pay a magnificent tribute to the spirit of NFL Super Bowl LVII emerging in the form of hand-painted stallions, each a living canvas celebrating the region's breathtaking landscapes. These majestic creatures are not just horses; they are living works of art, embodying the fusion of football fervor and the natural beauty of the Arizona desert.
The stallions, powerful and regal, are adorned with vibrant and intricate paintings that pay homage to the striking Arizona sunsets. Their muscular forms are wrapped in hues of fiery oranges, deep purples, and soft pinks, mimicking the stunning twilight displays that grace the southwestern skies.
The transition from day to night is masterfully depicted, with gradients of color blending seamlessly across the stallions' muscular bodies.

“Vanessa’s portfolio captures the colors and emotions we want the art and décor of Super Bowl LVII to portray,” Lofgren said. “She has this way with Arizona scenery that I loved, and when I saw her submission for the Stallion Project, I knew she’d be able to tell the story of our state and Super Bowl with her art.”
